Account Director
Role Purpose
Due to growth in our client base, we have an exciting opportunity for an Account Director to partner with our new clients and achieve their fundraising goals.
This role has two principal responsibilities:
- Client and account direction: being the lead strategist, voice of the client and principal contact on assigned fundraising accounts
- Cross-client project and implementation management: devising and implementing scalable and efficient solutions to improve service delivery
The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic, growing team that is nimble, quick, collaborative, inventive and smart, working on solutions that directly address the challenges of healthcare philanthropy.
About you
You have:
- 5-7 years relevant experience at a fundraising or marketing agency experience (preferred) or at a nonprofit healthcare Foundation
- Proven ability to simultaneously work across projects
- Demonstrable experience and understanding of marketing and fundraising principles and techniques
- Excellent oral and written communications skills; excellent attention to detail a must
- Proven ability to multi-task and desire to work to a high-degree of exactitude in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite, project management tools like Wrike, Trello, Asana, Workfront, etc., and common messenger apps like Slack, Google Chat, MS Teams, etc. required
- A desire to find better, more efficient and more successful ways of doing things
- An interest in working in the healthcare marketing and fundraising industry

What you’ll be doing
You’ll be the driving force between every key project and deliverable DHS delivers for your assigned clients, and you’ll be developing crucial internal processes that ensure excellence in service delivery and achievement of DHS/client goals to assure bonus payments.
Fundraising Strategy: (30%)
- Develop annual fundraising plans from scopes of work across multiple clients
- Work with Account and Project Managers to translate them into individual projects and campaigns
- Develop communications journeys for priority audiences, including key messages, timing, cadence, tracking and measurement
- Develop insights from performance reports and turn them into strategic and tactical plans for clients’ fundraising programs and campaigns
Account Management: (30%)
- Establish and maintain relationships with appropriate internal and external stakeholders
- Provide regular project status updates to Account team members at internal check-ins
- Facilitate agendas and notes for client-facing check-ins
- Lead client-facing check-in calls
- Proof and QA communication deliverables including emails, direct mail letters, quizzes, polls, surveys, printed materials, landing pages and presentations using a variety of platforms
- Support miscellaneous administrative tasks including meeting scheduling and managing internal processes
Project + Implementation Management: (40%)
- Work with senior leadership to develop strategic and scalable company- and cross-client approaches to ensure excellence and reduction of errors in service delivery for fundraising client, across:
- Project planning and management
- Communications deliverable development
- Audience and list-building
- Email and landing page build
- Deliverable review and QA
- Process and workflow and related documentation
- Reporting
- Devise training program for account and project teams, and work with individual account directors and project and account managers to implement, optimize and iterate such approaches
- Develop measurement and report-out frameworks against which to assess improvements:
- Create benchmarks of current performance
- Set error rate goals within each category
- Develop frameworks for measuring individual compliance with company quality assurance processes and toward QA goals
